Google Base: Google Local Search+Social Classifieds Engine+ Google Maps

Google Base was online Online for only a short time, and is now returning a 502 ( Proxy ) error.

What is google base? Well from the screenshots1 posted around the net from the short time that Google Base was online we can tell that it is a “a service to insert and share all types of content: events, housing, jobs, products, second-hand vehicles”. How to Get Ideas for Affiliate Sites

There are lots of ways to get ideas. Here’s one.

1- Go to Commission Junction and log into your account there.

2- Click on “Get Links”.

3- Click on “Advertiser List”

4- Click on “3 month EPC”

5- Scroll past all the new programs (the ones that say “new” in the 3 month EPC column)

6- Take a look at the top five or ten programs based on EPC. (EPC stands for earnings per 100 clicks, which will give you a good idea that these programs are profitable.)

7- Do a search for some of these product names in Google and Overture.

8- Take a look at some of the sites that are buying ads for those phrases.

9- Think about how you could make a similar site that’s better. Maybe you could make a better designed site, or maybe you could add better content.

Free tools for web masters.

I’ve got some free tools that might be useful for you as well.

  • Link checker: this tool checks dead links on your web site
  • Site map generator:generates site map of your web site automaically. This page doesn’t have ‘OK’ or ’submit’ button. Just type your web site URL and hit ‘Enter’ and then you’ll get a site map.
  • Web page speed checker:this tool tests the loading speed of your web page. Surprisingly, it also reports you some recommendations for better performance.
  • Free HTML editor:Frontpage, Dreamweaver, and/or the one your web hosting company provides is so called WYSIWYG editor. But sometimes once you know about HTML, it is more convenient to edit HTML source directly. In this case you need HTML source editor. One of most easy to get editor is notepad (if you use Windows, you already have). Try HTML-kit, which is free, and you’ll find it’s much more convenient than notepad.
  • Free monitor for google: this software shows you the position of your site by your target keywords and also how well your competitors are doing
