AdSense Trojan Could Be On The Loose

An Indian web publisher claims a Trojan program that replaces Google ads with a different set of ads has been found in the wild.

A report on the TechShout website said a Trojan affecting AdSense has been discovered. Google has not confirmed this yet on the AdSense blog, but a web publisher named Raoul Bangera is said to have contacted Google about the problem.

Google reportedly confirmed the information provided by Bangera, including screenshots, logfiles, and system files, demonstrated the ads displayed on his site were not legitimate.

“We can confirm from the screenshots that these are fake Google ads, formatted to look like legitimate ads. We agree that this phenomenon is likely the result of malicious software installed on your computer,” Google reportedly said in response. Read the rest of this entry »

SEO Tips For Bloggers

Congratulations, you have a blog! Or are thinking of starting one. Here are ten tips to keep in mind while blogging.

1) Post Titles

When writing a post title, it needs to be specific and interesting as this is what will be used in your title tag and what will be used to draw in readers.

Bad: Old Barns and Houses
Good: Minnesota Historic Barns and Farm Houses

Thinks to keep in mind are ‘What would people search for?’ ‘Is it specific to a certain person, place or thing?’

2) Paragraphs

Yes, use paragraphs. Keep them short and split up different thoughts. It’s much easier to read four small paragraphs rather than one large block of text. Even if they do contain the same information, this will make it easier for the visitor to read.

3) Categories

Categories are a must for blogs. If someone visits your site and is looking for information related to barns and you don’t have categories, or you lump everything under “general”, it will be hard to find what the visitor is looking for.

Think of it like the library. There are different sections for different kinds of information. Categorize it and make it easy on the visitor. Read the rest of this entry »

Adsense Tricks - 4 Ways To Get Relevant Adsense Ads On Your Site

If you’re an active Adsense publisher, I’m sure you have seen irrelevant Adsense ads on your site. Right? I’ve experienced them too.

Not only these ads do not relate to your website content, they will not get clicked as well.
Recently I’ve figured out several ways how to solve this problem.

1- Try adding META tags to your web page. The most important tags are TITLE, DESCRIPTION and KEYWORDS.

2- Rename your html file. Don’t use a generic name. Instead, use your keyword(s) as your file name. For example, if the page is about making money with Adsense, simply name it make-money-with-adsense.htm.

3- Try refreshing your page again and again until you see relevant ads displayed. You can refresh the page by clicking on the refresh button, or pressing F5 key on your keyboard.

4- If any of the above tricks do not work, you can send an email to Google Adsense Support telling them about the problem. Don’t hesitate. Their support team will reply to your email shortly.

I’ve experienced this problem with several sites of mine, and it was solved 2-3 days after contacting Google Adsense team.
